Fragments of diary from I-phone 46

19th of november 2065. 

 

Hi, my name is Mason and today was a tragic day, for humanity. Since the beginning of civilization, fossil fuels have been a key resource helping people to evolve, but that was until yesterday. It has now been one day since we ran out of fossil fuels on planet earth. There is chaos all over the world, and especially people in the Middle East are furious about the terrifying news. Oil has been a key resource for humanity and its evolution.  Many governments are threaten to close because of the massive loss of money from the global sector. Riots have occupied the street, spreading fear amongst people all over the world. Is this really the end? Thermal pictures taken from satellites show that no more fossil fuels are to be found on planet earth, which means we will have to expand to another planet, possibly finding new life forms. Until then, we will have to use alternative sources for energy production. This includes sources as the sun, wind and water energy. Already now, production of these sources have raised by a great percentage. It is has been said that windmills will be the leading source of energy in just about a few months. Maybe we are not as doomed as we thought we would be. This event might even have made us smarter in some ways. Maybe we will think about the nature now, more than just ourselves. Possibilities are unlimited, and many alternative energy sources are to be found. People say the world will come to an end, but I think, we have only just begun.
